Here to find good videos, photography, humor, and various weird and informative pages. I post on www.FussyPucker.com. An explanation of that name is here.
Inspired by a Beatles lyric, I now carry around the picture you see and sing the theme from The Courtship of Eddie: "Peopre ret me terr you bout my best fliend!"

Standard operating procedure. I'm sorry to say it, but that's what it is. A couple years back I pointed out the incredible ineptitude of modern psychiatry to a friend of mine going into the field and he looked me right in the eye, and said, "Yeah, Freud had an answer for that. He said if we don't do anything with these people, no one will." And there it is, the ultimate explanation: Psychiatric patients are the leftovers of society, the remainders to a very large equation. They deserve whatever care they get.
At least those who believe in the chemical imbalance theory are not saddled with the ice-cold notion that these patients are themselves at fault. Yet after billions of dollars of research, there is no hard evidence for the imbalance argument. They remain looking for the proof and using the words "may be caused by a chemical imbalance" in advertisements.
This shit breaks my heart. Bottom line to me: As long as people are deathly afraid of insanity, mistreatment of people suffering personal crises will continue--whether it be by those who blame the brain or by those who blame the person.

One of the most astoundingly geeky projects I've ever encountered, and a truly touching, dream-come-true story. The van is amazing and definitely accomplishes the goal stated on its roof: "SMILE." Through the reaction pictures, I felt the sense that this oddity was rather effective at making people--both inside and outside of the van--experience real joy. The site is a very easy read. Skip the intro, and start here.

Upgrading the memory in a laptop |

This isn't really worthy of stumbling, but changing memory is something everyone ought to know how to do. I get sick seeing companies overcharge people for this service. If you need to upgrade your memory, look at what you have and determine the type. Buy it cheap, put it in yourself, and save (sometimes as much as a few hundred dollars).
